Little Black Dress Initiative

The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a week-long advocacy campaign that seeks to raise awareness of JLOCC’s focus issues, while raising funds to support the development of women and improving the lives of our community through civic action. Our focus point for 2020 is Junior League of Orange County, CA and how we are “Empowering Women, to Improve the Community”. Each day of the campaign we will focus on a specific JLOCC community project, and how each of them empower women to improve their local communities. Together, we strive to raise $30,000 for the JLOCC Mission Fund! Which means…If 100 members each raise $300, we will achieve our goal!

From November 30, 2020 - December 4, 2020 we are asking our members to wear a black dress (or black outfit) for 5 consecutive days to spark conversations and raise awareness in your workplace, among family, friends, and through your social network.

All funds raised through LBDI will support the mission of the Junior League of Orange County to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

As part of our issue-based community impact, the JLOCC educates our members and the community, empowers individuals to take action, and supports local organizations that help our foster youth.
